It came to my attention the other day that I assume people know all the various things they can come to me for. So many people over the years I have worked with in the past have later come in for Biofeedback therapy or to recheck their hormones or whatever it was that they initially came to me for in the first place. I then learn they went through some health issue that, if I would have known about, a major trauma could have been avoided. This happens every so often and pulls on my heart strings. So, I want to do a better job expressing that I am here for you and there is little, if anything I can’t address. Remember, when you work with me, you have access to specialist in just about every field. Right out of college I jumped into Functional Diagnostic Medicine. This was amazing training in how to assess what functional tests to perform and with the training, I can resource neurologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists and other fields of specialty at my fingertips. I really enjoy this and have learned so much from putting heads together of difficult cases. One more thought on this note, with any circumstance, stress reduction is always helpful. Something else to keep in mind is PMG Therapy. For any gland or organ, there is a DNA code and to supplement with that is called PMG Therapy. This is what sets Standard Process apart from other professional grade supplement lines.
Speaking of codes, just as computers are coded to run specific software, our body works in a similar way. It is easy to read where the trouble lies. Have you had a body scan lately? As many of you know, I’ve done Biofeedback Therapy for years and I love it but I really wish to get away from using so many devices, just as I was having this desire and looking to use more hands on therapies, low and behold, a handheld device made for the everyday person came out. This is great news! Now you can get bioenergetic balancing daily in just a few minutes by either renting a device or purchasing one. Call for details! My new body scanner provides a detailed vitals report and 3D Imaging. Check it out. This is something I couldn’t generate with the clinical device. It also doesn’t take an hour for testing and therapy, rather just minutes! This means, you can have me review your tests once a month and just enjoy the frequent therapies, daily if desired. Not only will you get better results, it costs you less! I’m curious, how much do you spend on your smart phone per year? How much do you spend on apps? How about coffee or eating out? How many extraneous expenses do you incur? What would life be like if you put away $200 each month toward your health? What would it take to be inspired to make yourself your spring fling and invest in YOU!

I don’t think “I have to take my pills”, no... rather, both my mind and body say “I get to be nourished now”. This is why I take all the supplements that I do. I know and feel the difference. I supplement purely for preventative purposes because, to me, without good health, life isn’t worth living. I don’t wish to live long, only well. I want to feel great so I can enjoy the life I get to while it lasts.
I eat for calories, supplement for nutrition. As good as my diet may be, it just doesn’t provide all that is needed. Our soil is depleted. It takes many more times the food to get the necessary amount of nutrition - far more than we could ever eat. That’s why we thought of taking supplements, but many people don’t know they are making deficiencies worse with over the counter synthetic multivitamins! And we wonder why we are hungry, tired, over feed yet undernourished? It’s really no mystery when you begin to understand the difference between whole food concentrates as supplements as opposed to chemical isolates. When I think of consuming food, I think to take my nutrition - that’s what supplementation is... to supplement our food source with nutrient-dense whole food concentrates (or should be). I have a colleague that teaches protocols in triads. With any condition, he would say you must think of the mineral, vitamin and restorative protein (PMG) for the system that needs nourished so it can heal. For example, take adrenal fatigue - the ever so common root issue with many conditions. The adrenal glands need a lot of potassium (Mineral), they use a lot of vitamin C and the PMG Therapy would be one of three adrenal glandular supplements (depending on the stage of hypoadrena and dependent on blood pressure). There is much benefit to working with a professional that can assess your condition and needs. I particularly favor the Standard Process Pro line as I have found it to be most effective at making true and lasting change for people. You can’t take isolated chemicals and expect to get results. To illustrate this, I will share my latest discovery personally. I occasionally would do what I call the “mini thyroid test” on myself. It’s called this because you apply iodine tincture on the soft skin of the forearm and see how long it stains the skin. My body would soak it up within hours. Ideally, it should stain the skin for 24 hours if you had enough iodine helping the thyroid function optimally. I began putting iodine on my skin almost daily with little improvement. The most it stained my skin was 6 or so hours. I did however not feel so cold. Most practitioners would recommend taking iodine internally. However, I began taking Organically Bound Minerals, a supplement with kelp (a great source of plant-based iodine). I tested out the mini thyroid test not longer than just a week after supplementing with OBM and my iodine stain lasted more than 10 hours. This is a significant difference being that I had been applying the iodine tincture to my skin for months compared to just a week of plant-based iodine. Within just weeks of OBM supplementation (plant-based) my iodine patch now maintains stains for 24 hours. The lesson here is that more is not better and nature-made is superior. Getting a chemically based supplement may look appealing because you see on the label a larger amount of the nutrients measured out than you would see on a whole-food based supplement. Often, whole-food supplements do not measure out much at all as far as the label reads. One thing for sure that experience has taught me is that nature has its delivery system figured out! You gain more nutrition from less in measured out chemical isolates because you body absorbs and utilizes 100% of the plant-based source compared to just a fraction of the chemical source. There are side effects of chemically-based supplements – they have a drug like effect. Especially iodine as it is a strong antibacterial. With kelp, you get a synergistic blend of nutrients and cofactors that help in ways you can’t even begin to imagine. Alternately, taking iodine as a mineral itself can kill good bacteria in the gut and lead to problems subsequently. Speaking of cofactors… READ ON “Yoga is indeed associated with certain metaphysical notions, but the practice itself does not require that we adopt them” states George Feuerstein, Ph.D in the book Living Yoga A Comprehensive Guide for Daily Life. In this same book, a compilation of several authors, Joan Borysenko comments on how, in this country, psychology and medicine don’t have a place for the questions of spirituality. Such questions on the deeper meaning of life such as “who am I?” and “what is human life?”. I would like to add the question “is it possible to heal the past (and future) when we actively work to heal the present?”. Can you think of a situation to where this applies for you? And, if so, how would it change/improve things?
Yoga is a universal art. Most stereotypes of it are dead wrong. There are many misunderstandings of yoga but it is for anyone drawn to higher moral and virtues of life and any form of it, whether that be in meditation or the physical asana practice, it is inevitable that growth, a better state of balance and a sense of well-being results. It is true that there are postures called asanas but that is just one branch of an eight-fold path, one that is not a religion. I would place emphasis on yoga being experimentation of self-reflection, reality and beliefs. Groups of symptoms in Allopathic Medicine create a “diagnosis” while in Alternative Medicine, these same symptoms paint a picture that speaks volumes as to the underlying issue and thus the path of corrective actions.
We uncover and address root issues such as the state of the metabolism that, if not balanced, causes heartburn, stiff muscles and joints (especially upon rising in the morning), thyroid and adrenal problems. Or look at the brochure found on this site. Some may be shocked to hear that I take 20 different supplements, yet I do not have any condition that requires it. I call this proactive medicine. Our food simply does not provide the nutrients to sustain health. Our systems begin to break down without adequate nutrition. This includes protein. Americans typically consume plenty of protein and supplement sales are sky high... so why are we so depleted? We supplement with isolates that lack the phytonutrients and co-enzymes in plant and animal matter when raw and undenatured.
Along with healthy lifestyle choices, I believe the key in my maintained health is causally related to the whole-food supplements I take. Furthermore, they are not just supplements made form food – they contain specialized proteins called PMG therapy. These specialized proteins are the DNA material of glands and organs. Remember eating Liver? If you're not old enough to be part of that generation, you might recall your grandparents speaking of it… this form of protein is nutrient rich. However, cooking it denatures much of the protein. PMG Therapy goes far beyond nutrition. Consuming small amounts of these specialized proteins (specific to your need) increases the gland/organ function. For Traumatic Brain Injury, Adrenal Fatigue and other endocrine/hormone related issues, for repair of the liver, kidney’s or immune system – think PMG Therapy! And for auto-immune conditions the PMG’s work as a distraction to the attacked organ system. This can profoundly shift your state of inflammation and give the body a chance to heal itself. This is just one way I make sure to care for myself. Of course, being in the field I am in, I eat clean. I know what I should personally avoid and how to fine tune what is a good and balanced diet for myself. I also enjoy walks in nature and a regular yoga practice. Additionally, a healthy social life is important. I am close with both sides of my beloved family and spend quality time with loved ones. Some of us are not so privileged to have the fortune of our dear ones near to us. Or we are socially distancing so we cannot hug and connect in more common ways that we are accustom to with our dear ones. Sharing meals is traditionally a cultural theme around the Holiday’s as well as a bonding practice in general. What are you preparing to for this Holiday season? How will you navigate this terrain? I know one thing is for sure and that is my mental health is also of top priority. Even during times of isolation there are great ways to connect. Unfortunately, these typically come with the cost of screen time – and worse yet EMF exposure. It’s quite a balancing act to obtain health these days and I am here to solution find with you! I love Dr. Versendaal's encouraging message so I thought I would pass along:
Dr. Versendaal teaches an applied kinesiology technique called Contact Reflex Analysis. I love this form of investigation into the underling causes of one's disorder. Sometimes, the finding are not so obvious while other times CRA brings to light the point I would describe if I were educating someone on the origin of their condition and instead of a verbal dialog, it can simply be experienced! Kinesiology is a fascinating and gratifying work of art and healthcare system.
Before we had blood tests and technology to scan the body to find disease, we had intuitive means of discovery and these ways shouldn't be replaced. I too have to remind myself to step away from the use of the technological devices (Biofeedback, HSR, etc.) and use CRA. At the core of wellness is sustainability. The foundation to sustainable health is always about balance, whether it be gut flora being in check or maintaining emotional balance. Be true to yourself, listen to your body’s cues for rest and take your well-being seriously. This does not mean you need to have fear. Fear is not sustainable, rather fear and worry drain you.
Worry, more so than other negative emotions, has one of the lowest of vibrations there is to have. When your vibration drops your immunity drops. So, taking matters seriously is not having fear but being proactive. Often times, taking action alleviates the stress and sliver of fear that arises and is certainly normal as well as well warranted under current times and particular circumstances. What Actions To Take: You’ve heard how toxic hand sanitizers can be, especially for the young with the concentrated alcohol. Additionally, there are preservatives and toxic fragrance added to hand sanitizers. What you may not have heard is how the form of alcohol found in hand sanitizers accumulates in your pancreas, specifically and can make you more susceptible to parasites and viruses invading the pancreas. Hand sanitizers also deplete you of *vitamin C, obviously important for the immune system. So, washing with good 'ol fashioned soap (like castile soap) is adequate. It is not the pathogen (virus, bacteria or parasite), it is the terrain. In my upcoming book, I talk about the bioterrian as how to gain and maintain balance. When it comes to bolstering the immune system, the first line of defense is our mucous membranes and the skin (obviously as a protective layer). Beyond that it is the gastrointestinal system that is responsible for killing pathogens we ingest. Making sure we have adequate hydrochloric acid, or stomach acid, and pancreatic function is where it begins. On down the line in the intestines, the gut Microbiome determines the vast majority of our state of health. Mucous membranes comprise of epithelial tissue. Mucous membranes immediately remind us of the sinuses but it also includes the mouth trachea and lungs and technically, epithelial tissue lines the gastrointestinal (GI) system all the way down the line to the bladder and urethra. All this to say, that when you improve the epithial tissue, you improve the immune system. I am sure you are wondering how to most effectively improve the immune system in such a way that repairs the GI. The Protocol: MagaSpore (or for vegetarians- I have a different spore probiotic). Spore probiotics, also referred to as seed probiotics, work differently from your typical probiotic supplements which 90% may be killed by the stomach acid. MegaSpore heals the gut in 30 days. Contact me to purchase this! Speaking of stomach acid, it is a important aspect of digestion to have enough hydrochloric acid (stomach acid). This acidity is what kills pathogens. Supplementation with every meal is recommended especially when traveling or eating out. Histamine blockers, whether over-the-counter (OTC) or prescription anti-histamine medications are no way to live with allergies, nor do they provide a cure. Histamine is made within our bodies as a result of inflammatory reactions and immune responses. There are very little exogenous sources (obtained from the outside) of histamines. In another words, your body produces histamine. Are allergens on your case or on your plate? Histamine intolerance symptoms go beyond rashes, hives, and itching. In fact, many people are unaware that their headaches or migraines, anxiety, depression, fatigue, insomnia, vertigo and gastrointestinal disorders may be a result of too much histamine. CAUSES Liver health is the primary cause of histamine intolerance as becomes problematic when people have too much in their blood or a specific tissue. When true allergens have been ruled out, such as tests do not show immunoglobulin E [IgE] reactions, there are two other scenarios in which this can take place. The first and probably most common scenario, typically known as “histamine intolerance,” is when someone either absorbs too much histamine from the GI tract or does not break it down well in the liver (or both). Many foods contain histamine, and if the histamine is not successfully broken down during the digestive process. Liver function is also, of course, required to break down the histamine to be excreted as waste. When one or both of these functions are not working properly, the result is a histamine builds up, thus intolerance and symptoms present themselves. A deficiency of an enzyme, called diamine oxidase (DAO), which is responsible for breaking down histamine in the gut, the liver and other tissues. Low DAO activity in the gastrointestinal tract and liver due to genetic susceptibilities (weaknesses), combined with gut inflammation, excess estrogen and inefficient methylation (detoxification) can create a perfect storm, causing massive histamine overload. The approach to deal with this situation must be multifaceted and cannot all be covered here. Because people often have multiple food sensitivities or a condition called Environmental Illness due to intestinal permeability issues or SIBO, I do not recommend solely implementing a strict low-histamine diet. However, I do encourage such people to limit or avoid the biggest offenders listed. The dietary recommendations for individuals with histamine intolerance call for a diet rich in the B vitamin complex, glycine and flavonoids such as quercetin and rutin; all found in the product Cellular Vitality. It is recommended to exercise caution with probiotics, which can worsen the symptoms of histamine overload. We recommend only using the following bacterial strains: L. reuteri, L. rhamnosus, L. casei and B. bifidum. This approach, coupled with addressing the major GI disorders, usually works very well. Give this below list of foods to avoid a trial run for at least a month and pay attention to your symptoms and if they decrease. HISTAMINE “ LIBERATORS” TO AVOID: (listed in order of importance from sever to less reactive-causing from my experience) Additives (benzoate, sulfites, nitrites, glutamate and food dyes) Most citrus fruits and strawberries Over-ripe or fermented vegetables (sauerkraut, pickles, etc. (or anything that contains vinegar as well as alcohol) Smoked or cured meats Shellfish, canned fish Cocoa and chocolate Onion (raw) Papaya Tomatoes Wheat Nuts Black tea energy drinks Green tea, mate tea Potatoes Spinach Bell peppers Eggplant Pumpkin Winter squash Metabolism is like your operating system. In one book that I align with by Lorrie Medford called Why Do I Need Whole Food Supplements sites several studies where synthetic so-called nutrients such as vitamin B, C, and D do not provide the results that otherwise whole foods provided in side-by-side studies. Furthermore, minerals, in what I like to refer to as “rock form”, also do not prove to be as helpful in comparison to naturally derived forms of the nutrients. In fact, It is shown in some of the studies that the synthetic form of, whether it be a vitamin or a mineral, can actually be harmful and as much so as increasing the risk of cancer or causing sterility. This is known in the case of iron causing cancer but it is also shown in the University of Alabama study showing the damage to DNA when synthetic chromium was implemented for the curbing cravings for sweets. Lorrie Medford‘s cited this study (page 79) with chromium in the naturally extracted form derived from yeast would be not only be more safe but also provide the synergistic nutrients of the yeast. I use this example because many of the whole food supplements I recommend have a yeast base. Therapeutically, yeast wards off pathogenic fungus and other invaders and this immune supporting aspect is the additional benefit of whole food supplementation.
The medical literature clearly shows that statin medications like Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor shut down the production of one of the most important nutrients in the body - Co-Enzyme Q10 (CoQ10). What many people are unaware of is the fact that when CoQ10 is depleted, it causes the LDL cholesterol to become oxidized. This in turn sets off a cascade of events making the LDL cholesterol drill holes in the arterial wall causing a great deal of inflammation. This inflammation sets you up for an increased risk of getting a heart attack or stroke. For more information please contact us. As you can see from the handout below, there are calculations that should be done when you get your lipid panel results. Lets go over your lab work!
Dr. Google, Pharmacy Amazon...it's the craze these days. I often get the question "what about product X", or "what are your thoughts on x product or supplementing with y…. There are many scams and it is not worth the risk to order from this online source. Getting on board with a healthy routine doesn't have to be hard. If you like to learn new things while promoting health then try looking to eastern medicine traditions. Ayurvedic wisdom provides sound well-being rituals that work to prepare your body to feel it's best from the inside out, season by season. Take dry brushing for example, a practice that is used to detox the lymphatic system. Can you imagine thousands of years ago, they knew this was a health-promoting ritual that helps the body rejuvenate? On another note, as many of you know, I have a new device used to ascertain what deficiencies the body has based upon heart sounds. It is a fascinating tool that tells us so much important information. It is not like biofeedback in the scanning of your energy field, rather by isolating the sounds in each valve of your heart and seeing the pattern, I can tell how toned, rhythmic, and strong your muscles are. As you might imagine, this is a basic exam that everyone should have! Now, see how much more specific we can tailor your wellness plan! The best part is... it's only $65! Magnesium is probably the greatest predictor of all aspects relating to heart disease and anti-aging. A very high number of us are deficient in this mineral involved in virtually every metabolic process taking place in our bodies. However, not every “charley horse” is a result of a magnesium deficiency. It is just as likely that muscle cramps can actually be tissue calcium starvation. Incidentally, taking more magnesium pushes out the calcium. The two minerals are antagonistic. Find out if you are calcium deficient as part of a 10+ findings with having an appointment to do the heart sound recorder. Watch the slide show HERE The best practices for "anti-aging" involves high quality nutrition and knowing what to supplement with, not just based upon symptoms you are experiencing but by tests that confirm the need in extra nutritional supplementation. Pearls for Your Take-Away Health is by no means all in the physical! In fact, I believe the status and direction of health begins in the psyche. In various ways you can begin learning techniques to recollect your mind... read more The natural state of our mind is to be at peace yet the tension one feels when it is not is a direct result of the discomfort created by the busyness of modern living. It is fact that our memory and creativity is at its best when in a relaxed state. Our minds are more capable of processing ideas and we are generally more in control when our body’s are at peace. It is the nature of sleep, of true happiness and needed for healing. Being in a relaxed state allows you to put your life into the perspective of a whole - of a world in which you are a part of where all is interconnected. Energy can be thought of as contagious in the way that it transfers easily from one person to the next. Just pay attention to someone that passes you in an oncoming vehicle. Without coming into contact with them, you sense their vibe. It is just a flash of a moment and yet it can impact you, if you are not consciously monitoring your vibration; you’ve heard the phrase “it rubs off on you”.... Through breath we can bring energy into our body. This is an ancient understanding forgotten all to often. Imagine as you inhale that you are gathering life supporting energy and that with every breath it purifies all of your body, mind and soul. There is no part of your being that this life force energy cannot reach and inhabit. It is purifying, healing and life-giving. Everything that you do not want is purged with each breath; the stress, the tension, anger and fear. This is a very effective process but requires a heightened sense of awareness of your breathing. Despite your years on this earth, you haven’t likely mastered this most basic function of life.
Learn with the InSync group... My grandmother “Oma” is 89 years of age, is in great health, and has the aspiration to reach 100! I have shared with Oma some ways to obtain that impressive goal; cut down on gluten and avoid the vegetables that contain a chemical that can exacerbate inflammation. Recently, I checked in with Oma. She proudly reported that she avoids bread altogether and is staying away from those “moon vegetables”. She is adorable! Of course, she is referring to “nightshade” vegetables – those that contain solanine.
Solanine is a natural chemical found in nightshade plants/vegetables and some herbs. Most people can tolerate this chemical but many bodies that are in stress cannot, and the reactions manifests itself as an inflammatory response such as body aches, joint pain, and asthma. How do you know when you need to avoid nightshades? If you have chronic inflammatory or degenerative conditions it can turn around debilitating pain to completely eliminate nightshades from your diet. These include tomatoes, potatoes and all pepper except black pepper. There are more and this diet plan only works if you are strictly avoiding everything that contains this chemical that you may be sensitive to. I can provide, upon request, a comprehensive list and wallet card listing all the foods and spices you need to avoid. The wallet card can be shown to restaurant chefs making it easier to adhere to the diet. When it comes to weight loss counting calories may be a thing of the past, as a tried and failed attempt, an obsession, or somewhere in between…. Whatever the case, I want to make you aware of a couple pearls that may awaken a new drive to excel and beat the un-welcome weight once and for all.
Multiply your ideal weight in pounds (the number of pounds in which you’d like to weigh) by 10. This number calculated is the max amount of calories you will want to consume in a day if you are trying to lose weight. There are Apps to help keep track of your caloric intake. Online BMI (Body Mass Index) calculators can help you determine your percentage if body fat. It cannot take into account muscle mass, bone density etc. I do not recommend this tool to be used by anyone but the obvious out-of-shape and over-weight. For example, a weightlifter with more muscle mass may be overweight according to the BMI formula. Body Fat Percentage is the amount of body fat you store. If you know your body fat percentage the calculator will use the Katch-McArdle formula. BMI is simply your weight in (kilograms) divided by your height in meters squared. You are underweight if your BMI is less than 18.5 you are in normal range if it is between 18.5 to 24.9, and Overweight if your BMI is between 25 to 29.9 and Obese if it is over 30. One pound of body fat has 3,500 calories. This means in order to lose 1 pound of body fat in any given week, you need a deficit of 3500 caloric intake per week which comes out to be 500 calories/day. I think this is on the conservative side. However, paired with exercise and sauna-ing, it is reasonable. All this aside, I find it easier to follow the Vital Diet Plan I’ve constructed in combination of the oldest form of research we have on blood chemistry and foods, the Blood Type Diet, ancient eastern wisdom and todays findings on healthy diets. It is the simplest way to compute all the information and weed out mis-conceptions. I am in the process of making it into an ebook and in the mean time you may get the information for free with a special time offer until the end of March 2019. My long-Distance Patient Plan is ½ off at only $45*. This includes a phone consult going over your recommendations based upon a Systems Survey (SS) (symptomology in connection with body systems). *With this $45 dollar consult you receive the Vital Diet Plan, Holistic lifestyle tips and self-evaluation within this guide. You also receive a personalized report of the recommended whole-food derived supplements indicated by SS as needs to fulfill your nutritional deficits.
